I thought it was about time to start our first weekly update. AS promised I hope I can really document this pregnancy better than I did with Lucy. Since we are just now breaking into our second trimester I thought it was the best time to begin. We always like to wait till we clear the first trimester before we announce to the world we are pregnant.
When I found out I was pregnant Alex was at work ONCE AGAIN.. So I had to wait 24 hours to tell him, that conversation that night over the phone was the hardest. When He got home that morning I had written on our chalkboard "You're going to be a daddy again" and it had been a long time since I re-did the chalkboard and he is not very observant ;) I was going to have him look at it and I was going to take a picture of his face. I was so nervous that i just asked him to look at the new chalkboard I did. His response couldn't have been better. He was ecstatic!! He could not believe that we were pregnant again. It was the cutest.
We found out at 3 weeks pregnant.. So Early, My OB said that since we found out early it was a good sign of a healthy pregnancy. Since we found out so early it was so hard to keep it to ourselves for so long. We ended up telling both our parents at about 8 weeks. I started getting sick around 6/7 weeks and I mean SICK!!
for about 6 weeks (seemed like 20) I literally felt like I was on my death bed. I was so so sick. Nausea, headaches, vomiting and extreme lethargy. I remember looking at my husband many times and saying NEVER AGAIN.... ;) I was really sick with Lucy but this sickness had a mind of it's own. I couldn't eat anything since I was so sick and was spiraling the drain. My OB prescribed zofran for me to take even before seeing me because he remembered how sick I was with Lucy. I tried seabands, unisom & B6 tricks and all the other tricks in the book and nothing seemed to help. I would wake up from dead sleep extremely nauseous and throw up. I wouldn't say I have cleared all the sickness but I have a few amazing days in between a day of getting a wave of nausea.
With all my energy coming back my house has been getting plenty of TLC as well as sweet Lucy and Hubby.

why oh why can't we be friends in real life... like why can't we live down the road from one another?! since we don't, i'll just have to settle for following you and your lu and your bump from afar (like i've been doing for a year now). i cannot believe we're sharing an april due month, but the fact that we're in the same week is beyond crazy! happy 13 weeks to us.
ReplyDeletehere's to a new trimester and better days. being sick is rough, especially this time around... chasing a babe makes things so much more challenging. like exhaustion isn't enough.
congrats again friend and i'm excited to share this beautiful and wonderful journey with you yet again.
have a great weekend. sorry for such a long comment ;0)
We are TOTALLY friends in real life :) I do wish we all lived a little closer. We need a major blogger mommy meet up some day soon. I honestly laughed out loud when you announced you were pregnant and do just a few days after us.
DeleteAnd yes hoping this trimester is just as glamorous as I remember it to be with Lucy. And you are so right chasing Lucy around is a lot of work when you feel lousy.
Congrats to you guys, you are such a good mama and Claire is going to be the most helpful and loving big sister.
Never apologize for long comments I LOVE THEM!! xoxo
