J-Jesus
O-others
Y-yourself
How many times a day am I caught thinking to myself "I wish I could have a positive attitude, or outlook on this situation?" Almost all day long... But why? Is it because I didn't get enough sleep, enough food, or is it that I haven't had a break from work? No, it is because I am lacking JOY! This world is so easy to get caught up in. We tend to take what has been given to us (which is A LOT) and desire more. We are truly blessed by this temporary home of ours, and to forget about the JOY we have in knowing we are His disciples and instruments here to bring the good news, JOY, and love to ALL of His children seems a bit selfish, don't you think?
I have been praying for true Happiness and Joy. It is easy for me to become happy about a big event coming up, or purchasing new clothes, or going out to dinner, but that emotion always seems to fade, why? Because it is in the moment and it is pleasing the give me give me give me side of me. But what I desire is a constant Happiness and Joy in my heart where I can be content with the life I have been given, and my attitude can constantly reflect that by focusing on the love I should be always showing, and the patience I should have with ALL of God's children, the Faithfulness of knowing we are saved and our Father in heaven is one day soon coming to take us to Heaven, the self-control to daily remember to keep my eyes focused on Him and not let them wander, the peace of mind in all that is around me to know God has a perfect plan, and the Kindness to be gentle and caring all who need it.
"You shall be known by your fruits"
Galations 5:22-26
"But the Holy Spirit Produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another. "
May you also be encouraged to seek out the JOY in everything!
