Long Weekend

Every once in a while my husbands days off lands perfectly over the weekend. It makes me feel extra excited that he is home. I am not sure why that is, any time he starts his four day it's exciting and we welcome him home and try to convince him not to go back ;) but when it's over the weekend it's extra fun. This weekend however.. we were sick, Big Fat lay in bed breathe through your nose take endless amounts of nyquil and pray kinda weekend. 

We started out our weekend together with Dr's appointments and well being super sick. So that day didn't get documented to well. You know how those days go. Although I did snap this photo of lucy after MY appointment eating her sucker and holding the stickers she got. She is such a ham, while sitting in the waiting room she was waving at all the receptionists. While introducing herself she had to make sure they knew her daddy rode in the firetrucks, and puts out fires. This girl is just too good.

The next day we all woke up feeling a little better, so we decided it was the perfect day for a DONUT DATE!! We love donut dates. It's always such a fun thing for us to do since we wake up at the crack of dawn, it's a nice spot to go to that's open before the girls go down for their naps ;)

Saturday was spent laying low once again, as well as grocery shopping for the week. I never mind grocery shopping when there's peonies to buy every time.

On sunday we woke up bright and early and headed out the door for a family hike. Lucy kept saying I wanna go bike, lets go bike. The first half of the hike was fun and adventurous. Then when we hit the difficult parts us girls wimped out, we pushed through and made it to the top and all the way back down. When we were at the top Lucy kept saying go back to dada's truck. lol I was all yeah no KIDDING girl. Ellie also fell asleep which was so sweet :)

this was the moment I told my hubby yeah thanks but no thanks, he insisted I push through, which I did and later apologized for being lame.

we used our sollywrap and ergo for our little hike. It worked out perfectly.

Later that evening we spent the day with my family celebrating my sisters 30th birthday. Taco sunday and lots of bubbles and giggles. Perfect ending to the hubbies time off.

this one had to make the cut because it was too good. My dad and I were running to get into the picture after setting it up. Everyone's candid faces crack me up. Life is blessed.
