Last Thursday we left for a girls trip down to California with my mom. We sort of threw this plan together a few weeks ago. We really wanted to go visit family & my mom only has a few months of in the summer, so we decided to go for it a few weeks ago. I was nervous to take a trip with the girls and leave Alex behind, but I was quickly reminded how big of a help my mom is, it was like having Alex there the whole time.
I have to give the girls MAJOR props. They did really well considering the conditions, driving for about 7-8 hours and the 100+ degree temps. The first night was absolutely horrible. But the next few nights the girls settled right into their normal routines and it was WAY better. I tried to keep them as close to their daily routine as possible. Swimming all day long definitely helped tire the girls ;)
We spent the majority of the four days catching up with family, shopping, eating food & swimming. The girls had the time of their lives. They LOVE Aunt Jayne's.
All the malls we went to were SOOO beautiful. Ivy covered boxwood lined shops. My mind was blown. Our little country city doesn't put a whole lot of effort into the landscaping ;)
We stopped and snacked A LOT to keep these girls occupied and cooled off.
The girls were slightly STOKED to be eating In-N-Out
On our way back we were able to stop at Ikea and do a little shopping. It's a shame we didn't have more room in the car ;)
The girls took a good long nap on the way home so we listened to It's Complicated - One of our favorite movies.
We had so much fun getting away and visiting our family. Looking forward to settling down and getting back to our day to day fun activities and the fourth of July this weekend with plenty of family coming into town. Hope you all have a wonderful start to your week :)
xoxo
