Our Week/Weekend

So I took a week off blogging since life got a little crazy last week. Last week all three of us girls got hit hard with a flu bug. I haven't had the flu (norovirus) in a while and it took everything out of me. Ellie had it pretty bad. It all lasted at it's worse for 24 hours but Ellie and I had it for about 72. We were so thankful that Alex was able to be home with us while we were down and out, but it left us cancelling all our fun plans, or plans in general.

This weekend we were finally able to get out of the house just in time for Alex to go back to work. But I wanted to share a few pictures from between the days we were sick.

Even though it was the most miserable sickness to hit our house yet, I enjoyed the snuggles.

We've been squeezing in weekly date nights, and let me tell you, there has been a significant improvement in our household ;) Getting to get out and be a couple once a week (which will not probably be more realistic at every other week) has really showed us just how important it is to regularly date. Sometimes we would go on dates and it would have been months between dates and the date itself was just awkward. We were so use to the business of the kids and life that we didn't know how to be together without distraction. Getting out regularly has removed that feeling and we feel like we get to just date which is awesome ;) I am lovin it, and him!

Sunday we joined  my inlaws for a fun park & pizza date. The park is just beautiful this time of year. Like stunning.

We love running errands as a family and when we do we usually try to begin or end the trip with something fun for the kiddos, like running around a park or the town etc. Makes life a little extra fun. I just love me some babies in beanies and coats :)

Sundays are just a mad dash to get to church on time. Our church starts at 8:30 now and Alex doesn't even get off work until 8 am. So we literally met him on the road somewhere and picked him up and left his truck so we could all make it on time. We got to church and it was raining, no umbrella. I threw on one of the girls' hats and we mad a run for it.

Here are some links to a few outfits

My distroyed Black Denim // My Grey Tank - Similar // Ellie's Fuzzy Bear Hat // Lucy's Green Parka
Lucy's Boots // Lucy's Trench coat is from Zara // My trench coat is from Forever21 - old // My chunky sweater is by Rachel Roy a few years ago

Hopefully going to keep up this week on a few posts I've had on draft for a while. Got some great Nuby reviews coming your way, as well as some style posts and of course more of the girls ;)

xoxo

  1. In my opinion, norovirus is the worst out there! It went through all of us once and I wanted to die! Did you all have a really bad case of it? So glad you are feeling better! It's the worst to take care of sick kids while you are so sick you can hardly move!!

    1. It really is the worst. It spread really fast and it knocked us all out for a solid 24 hours. I actually went into the ER to get fluids and zofran. Poor Ellie had it the longest! But we are all finally 100% again! I agree it is incredibly challenging taking care of littles when you feel so sick! Luckily Alex was healthy when I was down! Lots of snuggles and lots of movies for us ;)
