Slowing Down

I am unsure if you have noticed and it's 1000% okay if you hadn't. I have slowed down on blogging. Life is busier than we can keep up with and honestly this is the first thing that will take the hit as it is just a small hobby. We have been diving full force into parenthood. You may be thinking what have you been doing the past 3.5 years ;) What I mean is making the girls such a huge priority. Making sure they are getting out and having fun and spending time interacting instead of watching TV.

It has become so apparent to us what it means to be intentionally parenting. What it means to focus on a family instead of a lifestyle. For so long it seemed we had both of those down. But when we really were forced to take a closer look it has been eye opening in the best ways. Getting on our hands and knees and playing, investing. Worrying less about the stuff that we may be missing and focusing more on the goodness that's in front of our eyes. Making to church every week and on top of that getting together with friends to pray over one another. Putting away the cell phones, cameras and ipads and just being present with family, friends and especially and most importantly one another and our girls.

This weekend at church couldn't have been more of a AMEN for me. Our pastor was on fire about GOING BIG AND GOING HOME

We are here to step out of the boat with our eyes fixed on Jesus. So often we wait for enough people to step out of their boats to feel okay stepping out of our own. Our pastor went on to say every person who has made a HUGE impact in our world and in the bible failed in BIG ways before they succeeded. I've realized it's time to stop waiting for the world to make a mark and start today by making sure I am doing what I can to step out of my own boat and not look around to see who may be watching but to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus.

This was so encouraging to me. In order to make a difference in our world for the Lord we have to be open and willing to fail. Failing is hard to accept and even putting yourself out there is scary with the thought of failing. BUT if you have been given a calling from the Lord and we all have something He has given us. GO, USE IT. RUN WITH IT.

I have so many friends and family around me who I know are so stinkin talented in their God given talents and it brings joy to my heart watching them chase after that. IF you are unaware of what it is God is giving you that's okay. Pray over it, pray that God will reveal to you just what it is you have a passion for.

Okay so I got a little off topic but in a good way. I have so much I would love to share about all of this but will leave it here for now.

  2. Sadie very well said. It is awesome that you take the time to write things like this on your blog. So worth having just a few posts with just the right message instead of having many entries with empty words. I would love if you keep posting things like this. xo
