I took the girls on a little girls only date night. Our whole house was super sick all week and I was the only one who didn't get it thank the LORD because moms are not suppose to get sick. We majorly needed to get out of the house. The girls were going so stir crazy. Alex and Liam were beyond sick so they needed to just chill and sleep and lets be honest without the girls (all of us ) in the house they had a great chance of doing that.
For some reason I thought taking the girls to the 7pm showing was an excellent idea. I thought they would get such a kick out of it being late and getting to go out past their bedtime to a show. FALSE. They did well considering the circumstances but it was a stretch. They thought it was so fun and exciting when they first found out we were going. But then an hour went by and they were dozing and trying to stay awake and so ticked that they couldn't fall asleep. We let them pack all the snacks they wanted in their purses and they were LOADED. It was hilarious watching them pack their snacks and chat about who brought what. Lucy packed all the big snacks in her bag and Ellie packed all the little ones.
We finally made it to the show and they were getting super excited again. We had a few meltdowns leading up to getting into the theatre but once we were in it was smooth sailing. Lucy during the show would squeal everytime the nutcracker and the princess would dance together my little hopeless romantic!
All in all it was a wonderful memory for me and the girls. Lucy has been talking about the Nutcracker all year she definitely enjoys it every year and I am so glad we were able to take her again this year.
