So, what happens in life when you are settled in one idea of what God has for you... and then you question whether or not it is the one thing that you are made and called to do.
Tricky?
I have always wanted to be a nurse, i want to help people and do everything i can to make them feel comfortable, safe, and secure. To give families peace, and bring the Lords light and salvation to everyone I encounter. I want to travel the world and go to foreign countries and offer more than just a helping hand but offer assistance to the people who are struggling to survive. That has been my main mission in life and only desire for being a nurse.
Lately i have been thinking, what if I'm being selfish and desiring to be a nurse for the wrong reasons. God has given me gifts that have given me my biggest passions on this earth.
I love music, everything about music, I have been given the ability to play guitar and sing, and i have the ability to listen to music and just find such a joy in it. I have been soo busy concentrating on school, and getting the grades that i put my music on hold almost as if I'm waiting until i'm done with school then i will play again. But what if the Lord is calling me to teach music go to school to teach music, or just simply play music all the time and glorify God in everyway.
My other passion is Nutrition and Fitness. I have played sports all my life. Playing soccer since i was 5 and enjoying all the other sports inbetween. I just enjoy being fit. I currently have a desire to instruct kickboxing, and become a group fitness instructor. Why? Because i am surrounded in an atmosphere of people who love what they are doing. Many of them work out for different reasons but there's always a core value and truth to working out and being fit, which is the way we fell walking away from the gym accomplished and with a feeling of pure happiness. I want to walk away everyday with that feeling and luckily i do because of Christ Jesus living moving and breathing in me through me and around me. I want to be there for them to look at and say i want the joy she has, i want my relationship with God, and my passion for Christ to be evident in my Job, and doing something i love while sharing God's love just sounds terrific.
That doesn't mean i don't have those same passions and joy's in Nursing. I have no idea, i have never stepped foot into a hospital as an intern and scrubbed in. I can't tell you that this is something i DO NOT WANT TO DO! or if i can't walk away everyday with the feeling of.. man my day at work was horrible and depressing. All i know about nursing is what i see one television. Which is PURE drama!! :( I'm excited to see where the Lord is going to put me and where i will end up.
I don't want to get focused on money, and being greedy, and looking into carreers and vocations just so i can buy all the things i want. I know that whatever i do the Lord has a plan and the Lord will provide. Not only will i be grateful but i will do my job knowing that everyday is a day that the Lord will/has blessed and given me to live out for Him. Why should i be worried about what i will do 4-5 years from now when i have soo much to do on a daily basis in the valley around me.
Even if i dont feel like my job is as cool as someone else, its how i choose to view my job personally, i am honored that the Lord would choose me to serve people, and help people get better. Healthy people dont need a doctor sick people do. It's soo true, the broken, weak and shaken families- i have an oportunity to serve and minister and pray over and for everyday of my life, and experience miracles daily.
Wherever the Lord decides to take me i am following with everything inside of me. Why should i be selfish.. everything good and holy comes from God above. So whatever i am doing i will strive to make every step be towards God never turning back or away. Always forward.
