The KIDDOS

life has been in hyperspeed for us, between visiting family in town and working on our house we are going, going, going.

With that said I wanted to Catch up a little bit on what's been going on with the girls. Lucy has been so sweet with Ellenah. I find her playing with her more and more everyday. When she wakes up the first thing she does is she walks into Ellie's room and holds her hand through the crib and says hi sissy. CUTEST heart warming thing EVER

We have been having a tough time with Lucy recently I think she is cutting her 2 year molars as well as a little under the weather. She also has a hard time communicating with us. She has been a little behind in this category. She will repeat anything we say but she wont use those words. She says a few words to us like mama, dada, papa, gammy and more and help and play and outside. All of those she will use well but she just can't tell us what's wrong or what she wants, she just sorta whines. We have been working really hard at disciplining to try to help her learn to not get frustrated and start using her words. It's been time out central in our house lately. We were recommended the book 1-2-3 Magic it's been working really well!! I recommend it to any of you who might be in our boat, or not in our boat it's good to just read and learn how to discipline.

Life is not easy with an almost two year old. But I know the more time and energy I put into helping her learn to communicate and helping her learn boundaries and that we are in control, the better she will be. I am encouraged to try my hardest!

With ALL that being said here is a little recap of our days at home

We are all a tiny bit under the weather with stuffy congested noses, so we stayed home from church and read books. This is where you can find us all day long!

Later in the day it was SOO warm out and we were able to fill up the pool and play in the yard it was perfect, and Lucy was on cloud nine.
It was a bit bright for Ellie to look up at the camera but she did a great job!

 "Sissy's nose"  - too cute!

Hope you ladies are having a great Monday! Any advice on helping toddlers communicate or disciplining shoot them our way! Thanks loves

xoxo

  1. I just love your girls! Discipline has been a friend at our house too. Must be either the age, or the product of having another baby in the house. Either way, they always redeem themselves by doing something totally sweet and heartfelt. We'll get through this mama :)

One thing that I've noticed that works 8/10 is getting down to her level, look her straight in her eyes and saying (calmly) whatever I need to say. Also, when I tell her no, I always say back to her "Claire, what did mama say" and she'll look at me and reply "no". She actually listens to me... most of the time ;)

    1. Yes, I do believe it is a combo of both age, and the new sibling. You are totally right, they do one sweet little thing and BAMM everything is wiped away!

Thanks for that tip, I will try that next time I find myself in that situation. Knock on wood, we've had a great couple days!! Makes me feel like something is going alright ;) Hang in there sweet mama xoxo
