The Nutcracker

This weekend we took the girls to see the Nutcracker. Yes our 3 year old and 1 year old. We had low expectations that we would last long. We knew there was a STRONG possibility that we would be leaving within 30 minutes or less. I did however have a diaper bag filled with snacks which definitely saved the day. Before the show, Lucy and I had a girly day we got our nails done, I "did" her hair, and put on some makeup. She felt so special. She was so excited for the show.

To our surprise the girls lasted 2 hours. We almost made it through the entire show. We were so happy that they lasted as long as they did. Lucy was absolutely infatuated with the show. I think she maybe blinked twice. Ellie on the other hand was cracking us up. She kept tapping Alex on the shoulder and whispering jabber to him. Like every 2 minutes. Watching them watch the show was by far one of the sweetest memories yet. Every time the whole audience and show fell quite I held my breath waiting for the girls to yell something. Sure enough one of the times it was completely dark and silent Lucy yells "where's the nutcracker?" everyone around definitely chuckled. Glad that was the response.

This one was just hamming it up. But when it was time to go, it was TIME TO GO. Ellie just wanted to walk around and she had no interest in sitting, nor did she understand very well she wasn't suppose to scream NO! a hundred times (im being sarcastic she only did it twice, seemed like a hundred). During one of the performances out of the blue Lucy said I want to go. So we knew we were on borrowed time and after one of the performances when everyone was clapping we decided to make a run for it.

He loves his girls so much and wouldn't miss a single thing with them while he's home. Makes my heart so happy. 

 All in all our first experience was one for the books and I cannot wait for next years. It was just perfect.
