Snack time is a big deal around here. I have a whole post I am putting together that includes some fun ideas for snack time. When I am in a pinch and can't make snacks into cute animals and shapes I tend to get creative with their plates and accessories.
With that being said I also run into a shortage of plates & bowls since we use them for breakfast, snacks throughout the day, lunch and dinner. I am constantly pulling items out of the dishwasher to wash them by hand. When Nuby contacted me about their Sure Grip Miracle Mat I was already sold. My table gets hit hard with all sorts of food that didn't make it into their mouths. It is definitely a KID friendly table since the hubby made it, but if you have a nicer table and want to protect it a little more or just want less of a clean up this little Miracle Mat is just that.
The Mat on certain surfaces actually sticks to the surface so your child can't chuck it across the floor (which happens at least once a week around here) or at least gives you a couple extra seconds to make it to the table before it happens. Lucy is particular about what her food not touching. So this plate REALLY works for her. During snack time I was able to seperate the two items of food without them every touching and bonus I only needed the Mat and not two bowls. For Ellie who drops and drips everything before it gets to her mouth this was HUGE most of the droppings landed on the mat so clean up was a BREEZE!
As if this product isn't mom friendly enough it cleans up like a dream. It is 100% silicone. We have a drying rack designated for their special cups and bowls that we don't want to put in the dishwasher. You literally just need to run water through this Mat and it's good to go (I mean you should always use soap but if you are a slacker like me sometimes a rinse is as good as it's going to get). If you wanted to throw it in the dishwasher BONUS it's dishwasher safe.
I really loved this product and the girls clearly adore it as well. We will probably be ordering 50 more to have for the future. When you find a product you really love you buy a lot of it to make your life easier ;)
This snack is just organic vanilla yogurt with a healthy supply of chia seeds for protein and a side of fresh strawberries. A simple and healthy little snack between breakfast and lunch for my girls.
