A Weekend To Remember

This past weekend was one to remember. On New Years Eve my grandpa Reed passed away. It was such a hard day for everyone who knew him. Nothing can prepare you for the feelings you will have when you loose someone so close to you. As my grandma stated in the hospital while she was wrapping her mind around the fact that her husband just passed away she said. "you are taught about this all your life, but it never feels right to be left behind." Those words pierced me. I have so many emotions and feelings about all of this but I have decided to keep this post about the wonderful weekend we shared together as one big happy family.

Family dinners 5 nights in a row is quite a record. Thank you to everyone who packed my parents house and filled their hearts. We all enjoyed it so much, and I loved seeing that huge smile on my dads face having everyone together laughing and loving on one another.  

Thank you everyone for ALLLLLLL the laughs, wonderful stories and memories and picking up where we left off and catching up on years that've gone by. This weekend was one I won't forget. Thank you to my big brother for flying in to be here for the memorial, thank you to everyone who supported my dad in performing the service (so proud of you dad). I just can't help but feel so full even when my heart is sad. 

Grandpa Reed you are one phenomenal man and I am so honored to be your granddaughter. Thank you for raising such an amazing son for me to call dad. You both are such an amazing example of men after Gods own heart. As I learn more and more about my late grandpa Reed I am realizing just how humble he was. There's so many amazing things he's done that I never knew about. I am just in awe of this man and the legacy he leaves. What an inspiration. Thank you dad for being the son you are and setting an example for me and allowing me to have a relationship with him and teaching me how important family is.
