LUCY

Lucy has been two for a few weeks and I have been meaning to write this post about her. I have been meaning to post about her every 4 months or so. I feel like she changes so much. I wanted to do a little update on how she's doing, and who she's turning into.

She is a girl who knows what she wants. She is very strong willed and she will tell you if she doesn't agree with something. She is also a very passionate girl, when she likes something she likes it with everything she is. She reminds me of myself so much.

She loves an audience. When she knows there's a lot of people around and they are giving her attention she performs. She will start jumping up and down, and running all over the place and starts singing songs, and doing somersaults/headstands you name it. She is really good at putting on a show to push back her bedtime as well. It cracks us up. Once I put Ellenah to bed I read books with Lucy and some nights she will just keep talking and talking to me and I know she is trying to distract me, sorry girlie I wont forget about mama's alone time ;)

She loves DRESSES - she has to wear a sissyrella dress everyday. She has a few that are long and flowy, and when she sees them she HAS to wear them, she will not rest until she is wearing them. Some days I can get away with dressing her myself but it has to be a split second Lucy lets get dressed because we are going bye bye, and she gets super excited. There are clothes I have purchased that she has yet to wear because she picks out what she wears (strong willed much). I love it though, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love me a girly girl. I hope it stays this way.

She is an OK eater. She definitely has her meals she loves. I've been working on increasing her love for a variety of food, right now she loves baked or fried chicken (I make a healthier version than fast food), and fish-sticks as her only meats. SO I am working on increasing the meat intake on this girl, she use to be a meat lovin' girl. She LOVES pesto pasta, avocado. She is a big fan of milk and breakfast in the mornings, I rotate her breakfast around and include oatmeal, toast, cereal, oatmeal casserole, pancakes, waffles - we try to mix breakfast up a lot because she eats a lot of it, and it's the most important. Lucy usually consists of pb&banana sandwich or pb&j complete with the peanut butter jelly dance, fruit & a veggie. She has taken a HUGE liking to pizza ;) smart girl.

She talks! Yeah she talks a lot. She has had her own toddler language for a while and it has slowly turned into English. We work with her everyday on words and combining them. I would say she is average on the speech department, she is definitely not above average. She puts words together and has 2/3 word sentences and every day it gets better and better. She knows her colors and animals as well as her ABC's & every characters name on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She knows most of the Frozen soundtrack as well as Tangled - you know the important things in life. She says her prayers with us every night {cutest thing in the world} She has a puppy dog named Rufus {ruffruff} and she is the worlds best mama to that puppy, it reminds me of the velveteen rabbit every single day, she rocks him to sleep, and swaddles him up and makes sure he has the best seat in the house all the time. it is the sweetest thing in the world.

She's a big sister - The transition to big sister for Lucy was early for her. So she has adjusted SO very well for her circumstance. I am always so amazed by her. Most days she just goes about her normal routine without incorporating her sister. But throughout the day she talks about her all the time weather its sissy is sleeping or sissy be careful, she is on top of it. She is a big helper with sissy. I can ask her to grab me something I need and she will run off and grab it. She loves helping me get her up from her naps & she loves helping play with her and teach her to crawl. A HUGE big sister moment for her - Our neighbors dog got out and I was outside trying to get it to stay in the fence and Lucy had been outside with me but after a while I had forgotten to keep an eye on Lucy to and I ran back to our front door in a huge panic and found Lucy sitting on the floor right next to Ellenah with her hand on her back making her laugh. Melted my heart in two. She is such a good big sister.

Proud parent{s} moment: We had our back door open with the screen shut to let in fresh air  and we were just going about our regular business I think I was folding laundry and Alex was feeding Ellie when we hear a knock on the front door. Alex came to the door and opened it but no one was there, then he head "SHOES ON" he looked down and Lucy was standing at our front door with her shoes in her hand. I picked her up so fast and didn't let her go for like 10 minutes. All I could think about was how easy it would have been for someone to drive by see her outside and pick her up.. Praise the Lord he spared her from that. Anyway.. we don't leave the door open anymore ;)

Weight - 24 Lbs
 Height - 2' 10"

This girl is my world. She may be EXTREMELY strong willed but I know one day she is going to be beyond successful. Whatever she ends up doing I know with all my heart it will be what she WANTS to do, and she will do it with everything she has. We love you sweet Lucy Jo, never change, you are incredible!
