LUCY

Lucy has the sweetest heart. She will be the first to give you a wonderful compliment. She has the biggest imagination. I could watch her play for hours. Her excitability and enthusiasm for life is contagious. She is incredibly stubborn and strong willed and I pray every day that the Lord will use these traits and build her into a strong confident courageous woman. I know that with her strong willed personality and her determination she is going to be so very successful. She fills our home with laughter and joy.

Lucy is also three. Three is a super fun age and also a really not so fun age. This past month has been quite a shocker for me. I had my moments of thinking I was doing everything wrong and all the discipline I had done and all the rules I had grounded into her was the wrong thing to do and it wasn't working. Almost everything is an issue and somedays it is very tough to get through the day.

There's always that kid in the class that is disobedient and fussy and makes all the other kids do the same. Lately Lucy has been that kid and I would lie if I said it hasn't been hard on me. We all want our kids to listen/obey and behave accordingly. And some days she does well, others and especially in public she acts very poorly. I wish I could wear a sign that says I swear I discipline her and she doesn't get away with much. The looks I get sometimes tear me down even more. It has been a very challenging month. I am learning that it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks and to trust that what I am doing WILL pay off one day soon and to remember the good days and capitalize on them so the bad days don't seem as bad.

I know why am I making this about me. Maybe one day I can look back and laugh at myself and maybe one day Lucy will look back on this and realize she's in the same boat as me with her three year old, either way I wanted to share.

Life wouldn't be the same without her. We are so excited to continue to enjoy the holiday season with her and Ellie. Making it just as exciting and memorable as can be. Her adventurous spirit brings me so much joy. She is always on board to do something anything. And the way she hugs me and tells me she loves me will stay with me all the days of my life. She is one of my biggest blessings.

I love you Lucy Jo

xoxo
