It's no secret Liam loves his food and that he hasn't been skipping any of his meals ;) He is a happy boy that is content with food in front of him no matter what it is. Around 5 months he really started getting into the solids. We started at 4 months and it was a slow start he really wanted nothing to do with them. Around 5 months he started liking it a bit more and at 6 months he was a pro. He likes to eat pretty much anything. We mash up what we are eating for dinner and give it to him and he loves it. I haven't found anything he doesn't like.
As he's getting older (and a tooth) we've been giving him little tiny cut up pieces of banana and avocado super soft food he can mash in his mouth with his gums. It's so good to start teaching them how to feed themselves. He's so interested in the bowl and if I look away for a second he's got it in his hands and usually has it in his mouth and on the floor in a hot second.
I recently received a sweet package from The First Years Brand with a bunch of cute and functional products for him. It couldn't have come at a better time. I thought for sure he was too young for some of the products but boy was I wrong. The suction plate is PERFECT for him. I can put some food on his plate and walk away for a second without it dumping on the floor. He has tried trust me, he tries so hard to get it off his high chair and he has yet to be successful ;) to my benefit!
Since he is 6 months we stick to very small very very soft foods
Steamed sweet potatoes
avocado
bananas
applesauce
and I use his plate to also serve him some mashed up foods that we eat with our dinner
We also give him small bouts of water, more so to get him use to drinking out of a sippy cup!
all of these products are available at target. I love the sippy cups in these colors so trendy and cool for little boys. Not super busy and in soft complimenting colors.
Since we are on the go quite a bit with the girls in ballet and other activities I always have a take and toss plate that I can use while we are on the go. If I don't have the ability to rinse it off after I use it I can just toss it and I don't feel bad about it. It takes up very little room in my diaper bag and has come in handy quit a bit. I am a huge germ a phob and it helps put me at ease when we are out to eat.
The First Years brand sent me these products to review. The pictures, words and opinions are all my own. Thank you for reading and supporting my blog and I hope you try the products I feature and love them as much as we do.
