I have been searching for a specific rug for a while. I love love all things white and neutral. Liam's nursery is very white & neutral and I needed a great rug to go in the middle of his room to complete the nursery. If you know me at all you know I take my time finding items I buy for our house. It takes a whole lot of second guessing, buying and returning & countless hours searching the web.
When I heard about Lorena Canals and their selection of machine-washable rugs and pillows I was intrigued. My kids, my husband okay and myself spill everything all the time. Just the other day I had a Diet Coke on the coffee table that got sword chopped across the room, so safe to say I wasn't wanting to spend hundreds of dollars weekly to get a area rug dry cleaned.
With the Lorena Canals rug I just throw it in the wash. It's a dream. Liam spits up a river when he does tummy time so I usually machine-wash the rug weekly or every other week. I have to say I was skeptical that a huge area rug could fit in my front loading washing machine and it did. It did a wonderful job cleaning up tons of spit up and a few stains from the girls eating frozen strawberries on it (anyone else kids love frozen fruit as a snack?).
I was so impressed with the functional care of this rug. Not only is the ability to wash this rug from home awesome but the quality and softness of the rug is incredible. It's handmade of all natural dyes and contains no VOC's like I learned most carpeting and rugs have. When buying products I always choose companies who make it a point to use the best ingredients not only for the environment but for my babies.
I couldn't wait for this rug to arrive at my door and ever since it's been a wonderful additoin to our home! We have moved it around quit a bit and love it in every room. I imagine it will find it's way into the living room very soon as our busy boy will be crawling and rolling around sooner than we know ; )
I really highly recommend all of their rugs. They have the trendiest, beautiful rugs and the fact that you can throw it in your wash.. all the praise hands. One of the greatest things about this company as well is that they donate proceeds to support the Sakula project which provides schooling for children in India. What a great way to support children around the world as well as update your space.
