We need to recap on New Years Eve still over here ;) We had a really fun New Years Eve. We decided to take the station Chinese food and spend some time there since the hubby was working. Since that was happening later in the evening we just stayed at home most of the day getting the house picked up and organized {I was already in the New Years mode} Had to snap this picture of Lucy in her mirror.. She loves mirrors.
We got to the fire station after picking up a HUGE box of Chinese food and right as we pulled in one of the engines was leaving and I see Alex running towards me half dressed in turnouts saying they were leaving too. It was pretty classic. It's basically Murphy's Law.. we come to the fire station and they leave ;) Lucy made herself right at home though. She walked right over to the recliners and started rocking them and started drawing with someones pen. I thought it was the cutest how she just owned the station ;)
Lucy at the big empty table :)
She started writing on a little sticky note pad. It was just the cutest.
She was waving bye bye to daddy as he left the station.. the wrong way.. haha but still the thought was priceless.
Our family photo on New Years Eve. We didn't stay too long after dinner (ohh and yes they did come back long enough to eat dinner) The quality isn't the greatest but it works, and I kind of love the way it turned out ;)
Our Weekend started on the 1st. We went
to my In-laws house to celebrate the new year with a yummy breakfast my
mother in law prepared. We always have such a lovely time at their
house. Lucy was in an extra good mood because she napped right before we
went over. We picked up Alex from work since we knew we would be going
to his parents for breakfast and he was a little late getting off work
which was perfect since Lucy had fallen asleep. He had quite a busy
night {new years eve} and he was very hungry and tired.. Luckily we were
headed to breakfast ;)
She loves my in-laws big dog max. I can't wait until she's a little older so she can really play with him.
We were in full blown organizing mode when we got home, which meant making room for baby E in our bedroom. we cleaned out and moved our desk area into the dining room, and we went to home depot and purchased like 5 big tubs to organize our house better with. We also purchased a long mirror because I haven't had one for like a year.. Um.. What girl doesn't have a long mirror? This one! It is so nice having one now I feel like getting ready just got 100x easier.
We also went to target and picked up a filing cabinet.. nothing says happy January 1st better than buying a filing cabinet right? We also picked up Lucy crayons and a big notepad to color on. She flipped when she saw it. She is really into coloring right now.. But then I put the crayons in the mason jar and for about an hour all she did was put the crayons in the mason jar and take them out. Silly Girl.
The 2nd brought errands all day getting ready to take a trip to bend. That morning I had been reading my bible and going through a devotional when It brought to my attention Proverbs 31 and I read the whole thing and I think it had been awhile since I really read through it. Well, by the time I was finished with the chapter I found myself in tears {oh pregnancy hormones} over the fact that I get to raise 2 daughters and hopefully raise them to desire to be more of a proverbs 31 wife and less of a worldly wife. I can find myself getting wrapped up in the worldly wife too often. I am determined to raise my girls with the mindset that they are beautiful and clothed in strength and dignity. It is so important to give them self confidence. Best gift I believe us as moms can give to our daughters.
The 3rd brought a 4 hour drive to Bend to see my brother and sister in law and adorable niece Eva for her 3rd birthday. It was next to impossible getting a picture of the two of them smiling and looking at/near the camera but we finally got one and it's the cutest.
The 4th brought us together for Eva's 3rd birthday party. She had a Frozen party {like the movie} So we tried to dress accordingly ;) Well at least Lucy was dressed accordingly. Love her cheesy smile in this picture.
As my sister in law was taking this picture she goes here's a glimpse into your future ;) Minus the grinch looking body I have :/
Sweetest little girl.. She kills me!
Thoroughly enjoying her cupcake. She like NEVER gets cake or cupcakes or even sweets for that matter. So she took this very seriously.
Alex and the girls. We had so much fun celebrating Eva's 3rd birthday. She is the sweetest girl and I cannot believe she is 3 going on 13 I swear. She is full of life and personality. It was an honor to be there to celebrate her.
Now we are slowing WAY down and staying put for a while. And when I say a while I mean.. We probably will not be traveling anywhere until baby E is here. Its getting too exhausting for this mama.
Hope you all had a wonderful New Years and first week of January.
xoxo
