As most of you already know if you follow me on Instagram (@sadiecummings) we went on a little family Vacation. We haven't had a family vacation with my side of the family. Even though the entire family couldn't be here (missing my sister & second brother) it was still so nice to be able to all be under one roof for a few days. We posted up in Sunriver which is just BEAUTIFUL. If you have never heard of it just google it and I am sure you will be booking your next vacation there too. It is home of the biking, hiking, and outdoor people. Although it has a beautiful village with plenty of shops and amazing food. There are endless amounts of things to do.
We arrived Thursday, fresh off of a hectic week in our household. We had a car breakdown, baby teething and toddler who spiked a random fever. As well as other things going on ;) needless to say we were rrrready to get out of the house and get the heck out of dodge. As you can tell we were ALLLL ready ;)
If you haven't traveled through or to Oregon you otta. It is by far the most stunning place I've ever seen. Yes I may be biased and yes I did say ONE of. We stopped half way and took a walk by some falls. It was just stunning
First night we all got in mid afternoon and just hung out and ate dinner together. Then all the kiddos got in the hottub with the grandparents. which they all absolutely adored.
The next morning we all woke up around 6:30 am thanks to our lovely beautiful alarm clocks. Ate some breakfast and then went for a walk around Sunriver. It was a little chilly out but just beautiful and so refreshing for the soul. After all the kids napped we loaded up and headed to the pool. By far one of the coolest "pools" i've ever been to. Thanks to Aunt Kate for the passes to this amazing park.
All the kids had the time of their lives. SOOOO much fun. They were able to walk around in the big pools since the majority of them were about 1-2 feet deep. Greatest idea in the world. After the pool we went home and made dinner. After dinner we went back into town and got some Ice Cream. Yeah it was a pretty amazing day. The girls held hands pretty much 70% of the trip, it was adorable.
This is the family (minus my sister and 2nd brother)
If one kid is being carried they ALL have to be carried ;)
Saturday we woke up again quite early although the kids did sleep pretty hard. After we woke up we all went out for another walk. The girls loved to get out of the stroller and run (then get carried since they don't sit back in the stroller once out) around. We loved letting them get all their energy out. The hubby and I also practiced a little baby yoga ;)
Check out that gnarly bed head :)))
After the kids napped we went into the Village and grabbed lunch. Lunch out with four kids under 5 went better than I anticipated. They all were troopers. They all were also promised a ride on the choo choo train that was zippin around the village. Thanks to papa for takin all the kids on the train ;)
After the two train rides around the village, we went for a walk to get some tea at starbucks. Lucy pickin some flowers since she had a good reach ;)
After our walk around the village we took the kids to a park. These kids were livin the high life. They played around on all the fun park structures. My brother and I played a friendly game of tether ball. Little did I know that game is terrifying with a 30 year old brother who doesn't play well with others ;) LOVE YOU!! After that we went back to the house for dinner. After dinner we decided to go back to the pool again, because the kids had so much fun, and we did too ;) one more day was a MUST
Our fearless little Lu sliding down the slide into the pool :)
My dad and Alex totally wiping out like we did earlier.
You can see behind us how cool the park is. That huge slide was a blast. Alex and I went down it and totally flipped underwater like crazy. I told him before we went down not to flip us. I should have known better :)
We were all pretty wiped after the whole day, but we had a MAJOR shuffle board competition for a few hours after the kids went to bed. I had never played the game before. It is quite addicting.
Sunday we had breakfast and then packed up to head home. It was so bittersweet. We were all having so much fun being together. Watching the girls wake up and give each other big hugs in the morning was just priceless. I loved every minute of being under one roof. Wish it could happen more often. So thankful for my aunt who let us stay at her house. It was a beautiful spot to relax and catch up as a family.
On the way home we stopped by a lake to stretch our legs and get some ice cream because well you know we weren't home yet so technically we were still on vacation ;)
All in all the PERFECT family vacation. We missed our other two members so much, but we were happy to be together. We had quite a few hiccups don't get me wrong but thankful for family who love you all the same, screaming kids or not.
xoxo
