Our Weekend Away

Friday we loaded up in 30 minutes to take a trip up to Washington. I know we are nuts. My husbands brother moved to Ohio with his wife and boys and we had planned on driving up and helping but then our car broke down leading up to the trip. Alex worked tirelessly to fix my car so we could go but it wasn't looking promising. The day we were suppose to leave he took it to the battery shop and they figured out our battery had never been changed. It was so old, and not keeping a charge. They switched out the battery and viola worked like a charm.

So I got a call asking that I would pack up every thing we needed to drive to Washington. I had a mini panic attack but I put aside my worries and just packed our life away. I packed us up in 30 minutes and when alex got home he loaded up the car and off we went. We made it 30 minutes on the road and had to stop and feed Liam :) It worked out because we were able to get the girls dinner (I can't tell you how many McDonalds/Target parking lots I nursed liam at). We got back on the road and made in 3 hours north and stopped again. It felt like we may have never made it all the way up. We finally made it to portland around 9 pm and crashed in our hotel.

The next morning we woke up bright and early and took the girls to the docks. I have heard this is a really fun thing to do and they LOVED it. SO MUCH. Worth the early wake up call, wait we were already awake. Then we headed off to breakfast at our favorite spot. Mothers Bistrow Cafe in Portland, Oregon. It's the BEST spot in my opinion to grab breakfast. We try to eat there every time we visit portland. This was the girls and liams first time. They all did great ;)

It was so wonderful to see our family and get to spend 24 hours with them helping them pack and clean up their home before they moved. I loved getting to Chat with my sister in law as we had babies just a month apart. It was wonderful meeting baby William and we can't wait to see what God does in their life in this new chapter.

Mothers was such a lovely experience. The play area for the girls was all the praise hands :) they sat us right by that area so the girls could play while alex and i chatted and sipped on coffee pure bliss.

The only picture I snapped while in Washington was of my brother and sister in laws adorable backyard :) My biggest worry going on this trip was how 5 of us would do in a hotel room. to my surprise they did great. they thought the adjoining room to my inlaws was hilarious and decided to pound on their door at 6 am and wake the entire hotel up ;)

We left Washington around 12:30 and stayed in portland until 6:30 grabbed dinner fed Liam and hit the road. This is where the kids started loosing it. No cartoon, princess sound track or toy could possibly entertain they were DONE. At one point all three kids were crying and Alex and I just laughed, we are crazy for sure. I didn't want to stop again and made every effort to keep the kids from loosing their marbles even bribbing Lucy to go potty in her pull-up not my finest parenting moment :( but we made it home.

My sweater is from Forever21 but I couldn't find it on their website for you
