Cannot believe how fast these weeks are flying by. Some days I am amazed that we will be parents of yet another beautiful baby girl in just a few weeks, and other days it feels like we have plenty of time to prepare ;)
We have quite the to do list these days. I feel like that saying first kid, second kid gets thrown out there in our house on a daily basis. With Lucy I had our bags packed, car seat installed, and birth plan typed out and organized in a binder that also had copies of my drivers license, insurance cards and nearly anything and everything they would need. Not sure who that crazy mama to be was ;) This time around, I am not even sure where the paperwork we send into the hospital is, let alone what I would even write in a birth plan. I honestly feel like writing a birth plan that says.. whatever happens.. happens. Labor is so different, and to try to plan for the way it should/will go seems silly to me. I had an epidural with Lucy but since I got it so late in my labor {I was already 10cm and no one knew it} I didn't feel like it helped much. So I will be making that decision when I get to the hospital. I think I will take my previous birth plan and just alter it a bit ;)
So A little to do list for myself ;)
Pack all of our bags {in the next couple weeks}
Lucy came early and luckily I was ready. I hope to have our bags packed by 36 weeks. The weeks leading up to then will be filled with finding everything I need and want and getting it organized.
Clean & Install Car seat
We are using Lucy's car seat. We decided we would reuse the car seat and upgrade baby E's car seat sooner than we did with Lucy. We love Lucy's current car seat which is a maxi cosi and it is a transitional one, so it can be used for newborn up to nearly 65 lbs. SCORE! We hope to transition baby E when she is about 8 months.
Organize a Nursing Basket for Lucy
Someone told my mom a brilliant idea. Make Lucy a "nursing basket" she will only get it when I am feeding baby E. It will be filled with toys, coloring books, crayons etc. Once I am done feeding baby E the basket will be put away and hidden until next time. I feel like that was such a AMAZING idea.
Wash & Sanitize Breast Pump & Bottles
We are getting some new breast pump parts, but for the most part using them again. So we will need to wash and sanitize them as well as her bottles. We got new nipples for the bottles but we will still need to wash them.
Purchase the Rest of the Items we Need
emphasis on the word NEED. My mama to be brain is going crazy, thinking I need WAY more than we do. I honestly feel super prepared and ready to have her, but there are always items I WISH we could have to make life a little easier. So if we get around to those items great if not great. But we do have some items we really NEED, so we will be working on purchasing those in the next few weeks before she is here.
I am sure there are more things I need to add to this list but for now this is what I can think of/remember ;)
On another note, my super sweet husband scheduled me a prenatal massage to help align my hips/back. The last I'd say 4 weeks I have felt crazy out of line. I have never thrown out my back, but I asked a few women who I know had and they said it sounds like my hips were out of line. Boy o Boy does it hurt, I feel like I am walking with one heel on and one off ;) Maybe I am :) Needless to say I cannot wait to get aligned!!!
