This past week was the longest week ever. I am so thankful my husband had most of the week off or I would not be here today to write this post ;)
This week was filled with sick, overtired, cranky kiddos and a husband with a thrown out back. Don't get me wrong there were some Okay(ish) times but for the most part our sweet Lucy girl was down and out and the hubby spent many hours at the chiropractors office. Lucy had not left the house until yesterday the poor thing was so miserable and I Was so afraid she would catch something else with her weak immune system.
Yesterday it was time to take her back into the dr since she had been on antibiotics for 6 days and no improvements. We brought the whole fam because well 1.) I thought it would be a good opportunity to get the kids some fresh air, 2.) I thought it would be pretty quick and painless 3.) I honestly didn't want to go alone. Boy was I wrong. We spent 1.5 hours waiting to see the dr. and then once we saw her we were sent to get a chest x-ray to rule out bacterial pneumonia then back to the dr office to wait for results and instructions. Turns out the sweet girls has a viral pneumonia which the treatment is no different than what we are already doing for her step and influenza. This girl cannot catch a break. A quick dr visit with the whole fam turned into an entire day. I am so thankful my parents live right by the doctors office and hospital so we were able to crash there between appointments and results. Longest day ever.
Okay I really want to turn this post around because I don't like complaining at all. I am so thankful for health insurance that allows us to go to the doctors 3 x in a week get chest x-rays and medicine to help our baby girl and chiropractic appointments for the hubby. I am so thankful for helping hands from my husband who poured into our home over the past four days. I am so thankful for caffeine that keeps me on my toes and going when running on broken up hours of sleep. I am so thankful for Netflix and paw patrol that keeps my kids laying low while they fight off their sicknesses.
I am just all around feeling blessed I get to stay home and focus my attention on getting this girl healthy and keeping the others from getting sick. I feel so honored to be able to make jello give Tylenol, take temperatures and nurse our babies back to health. There's nothing worse than seeing your kiddos sick but it brings me joy knowing I get to be home to snuggle them and help them feel better to my best ability.
I am hoping and praying next week brings HEALTH and some fun times ahead of us we are in desperate need of some fun ;) If you've got sick kiddos too I am praying for you, I am praying for strength, patience and a buttload of energy to get you through :)
